A Sunny Spring Day with Lindsay and Justin

On one beautiful sunny spring day, I headed off to the wedding of Lindsay and Justin.

Right on time, they began getting ready for the big day when all of the details and planning would finally bring about an amazing ceremony for two people in love.

Shoes

Flowers

Rings

The guys were ready for the fun.

Justin, a first-class gentleman, was so excited to see his beautiful bride.

The beautiful bride, Lindsay, was stunning in her white gown.

The ladies were lovely in the fresh spring breeze.

The ceremony took place at The Fountains. It was perfectly perfect.

After the ceremony, there was much celebration. It was a coming-together of friends and family…

…before a good-bye. Justin was scheduled to leave for a future in the military very soon after. So, the celebration was filled with love, gratitude and meaning. Everyone in attendance seemed closer than most people would.

Lindsay and Justin hardly separated for even a moment the rest of the night.

Congratulations Lindsay and Justin! Thank you for allowing me to spend your most special day with you. Please find the rest of you online album here. To both of you, a heartfelt thank you for your upcoming journey as you serve our country and provide support for each other.

Lindsay and Jason

The wedding of Lindsay and Jason took place on a rare February day that was filled with sunlight.

When I originally met with them to talk about their wedding day, they were hoping for a fresh blanket of snow. But, the day was much better than we could have hoped. It was sunny and just warm enough that being outside was enjoyable–a pleasant surprise for sure.

I joined the ladies at the fabulous Kellogg Manor House for the pre-wedding preparations. Lindsay’s something old/blue/borrowed included a special pin. She was sparkling in amazing jewelry she found in an antique shop.

We had a few moments for pictures before the guests arrive. We headed outdoors. Lindsay and her two sisters were stunning.

We headed toward the lake for some pictures in the sunbeams. Everything was soaked in golden light!

The gentlemen arrived a short time later to begin getting ready.

Jason was calm, collected and ready to see his beautiful bride.

The kids were so adorable waiting patiently for the ceremony to start.

It wasn’t long before Lindsay headed down the stairway…

…toward the sunlight in the windows, toward Jason, and toward a tomorrow filled with love.

Back out into the sun we went.

Soon the sun was setting and the reception began. Great food and dancing were underway to celebrate the love of Lindsay and Jason. Lindsay and her father shared a dance.

The evening was made even better because it was shared with this special little man.

The night was intimate and romantic.

Thank you Lindsay and Jason for letting me share the special moments of your day with you. I so enjoyed working with you and I really loved the way you both seemed to read my mind as we went along. You’ll find the rest of your online album here.

Tara and Ryan

My last wedding for the season took place on a perfect autumn day. It was spent with the beautiful Tara.

She had her something blue…

…fall colored flowers…

…and a handsome groom waiting to see her.

The ceremony took place in St. Joseph near Silver Beach – outside – overlooking the water.

When we first met, Tara and Ryan asked if I could give their pictures a vintage look. So…

We wandered around taking in the scenery and the beautiful fall weather and enjoying the perfect day to marry someone you love.

We stopped at the train station near the tracks.

We stopped for a cool beverage

then headed down to the beach.

We did a lot of walking.

The friends and family in the wedding party were very supportive and fun.

We went to the carousel…

…then the fountain.

We headed off for a night of fun at the Heritage Center where there was a rocking mariachi band waiting to serenade Tara and Ryan.

Tara and Ryan, you are truly a wonderful couple! I had so much fun with both of you and your amazing families and friends. Please find the rest of your online album here. I hope you had a wonderful honeymoon and many amazing days to come!

Sarah & David

I have to say I was really looking forward to the wedding of Sarah and David ever since our initial wedding consultation. I knew they would be a fun couple to work with and they did not disappoint.

Sarah was absolutely stunning as she prepared for her big day.

Maybe it was her awesome something blue shoes…

…or her flowing sparkling dress…

…or her beautiful bouquet…

…or the way she absolutely lit up from the inside when she saw David for the first time on their wedding day.

The sun was shining bright, though it was a bit windy and chilly. When the ceremony began it seemed to warm up at the Heritage Glen Golf Club. The entire wedding party was so much fun! The laughter kept everyone a little warmer.

Because it was so chilly outside, I don’t think anyone minded getting a little closer for pictures.

Sarah and David looked great together as they shared their special day with friends and family.

Congratulations Sarah and David. View the rest of your online album here. I wish you a lifetime of laughing and days filled with the fun that you shared on your wedding day.

Jessica and Andrew

On a Saturday not long ago, a stunning Jessica prepared to marry her long-time boyfriend.

Andrew looked very distinguished as he waited to see how Jessica had transformed into a beautiful bride.

Together, the two of them make one amazing couple.

Their ceremony and reception were held at Thornapple Creek on a perfectly blue-sky-sunny type of day.

The ladies were lovely under the blue skies in their purple gowns.

The guys looked dashing as they waited for the day to begin.

The flowers in hues of purple were beautiful. Even a bee or two visited them while were were outside.

The ceremony was lovely inside the by the fireplace with candles on the mantle.

Vows were spoken and rings exchanged.

And they were officially united.

Congratulations Jessica and Andrew! You both have been an absolute pleasure to work with over the past several months. Please find the rest of your online album here.

Ashleigh and Matthew

I’ve really enjoyed getting to know Ashleigh and Matthew over the past year as they planned their wedding. So, I was excited when their wedding day arrived. I could hardly wait to see all of Ashleigh’s plans come together.

She was beautiful.

Matthew was looking great at Friendship Farm before the ceremony began.

Beautiful flowers of pink and blue were chosen for the ceremony.

Ashleigh was escorted down the aisle by her father.

The wedding party was perfection!

And Ashleigh and Matthew were amazing together.

Friendship Farm was as beautiful as always and the hospitality was top-notch!

Ashleigh wanted some nighttime pictures. These are just before dark…

After dark…

I have to throw a shout out to The Canopeum for the large canopy, the lights, the details. It was perfectly beautiful.

Thank you Ashleigh and Matthew for having me as part of your day. It was truly a pleasure to work with you and to see all of your dreams come true. Please view the rest of your online album here.

Katie and Paul

I love color. On a particular August day which started out gloomy and rainy, a splash of yellow was just the touch.

It was the wedding day of Katie

and Paul.

They were married in a beautiful wedding ceremony at the First United Methodist Church in South Haven.

During the ceremony, the rain cleared up. The sun came out. The day became beautiful.

After the ceremony, we headed to South Beach for some pictures.

Katie was gorgeous.

Katie and Paul together…

The rings…

The wedding party was stunning in yellows and grays.

Katie and Paul were very willing to have some fun!

Katie and Paul, you have style! I loved working with you and your friends and family. Please view the rest of your online album here. Thank you for having me be a part of your special day.

Allison and Darren

The wedding of Allison and Darren was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church one Sunday afternoon.

Allison looked absolutely stunning.

Darren was dressed for the day looking quite handsome.

Since the schedule for the evening was tight, they opted for a first look photo — seeing each other privately before the ceremony. Darren’s face lit up when he saw his beautiful bride.

We then quickly headed off to the park for some before-ceremony pictures to preserve the day.

The ladies looked lovely in black.

The gentlemen, handsome.

And the sweetest (and possibly cutest) flower girl and ring bearer.

Beautiful:

The ceremony was perfect in one of my all-time favorite churches.

Once again, the adorable ring bearer and flower girl momentarily stole the show.

Allison and Darren soon left the church to head off for the reception at Cityscape Events.

The wedding party looked fabulous after the ceremony.

They gave me some fierceness before getting in the car.

Allison and the boys:

The flowers were red calla lilies and roses.

These two beauties were smiling sooo big!

At the end of the night, Allison and Darren shared a few quiet moments together before heading off on their honeymoon.

Allison and Darren, your wedding and reception were perfection. I hope I was able to capture some of the artistic vision you had for the evening. View the rest of your online album here.

Heather and Michael

A white dress, intricately covered in lace, waited for its bride inside St. Catherine of Siena.

The beautiful bride, Heather, was ready with a bouquet of summer flowers on a warm sunny day.

Michael, the day’s main man, was surrounded by friends as he prepared for the ceremony.

Lilies and roses added a touch of color

to the hue of the ladies’ dresses.

The ceremony was breathtaking.

After the ceremony, we headed over the the Lawton Heritage Community Center for a perfect reception filled with moments to remember.

Superman cuff links.

We headed indoors where it was, thankfully, much cooler.

One of the bridesmaids made sure luck would be on their side by placing a penny in her shoe. There was no tape to be found, so stickers were used. At the end of the night, the penny was still in place.

Heather and Micheal, it’s true — you are awesome! View the rest of the online album here. I hope every day is as fun as your wedding day was.

Vintage Appeal

When I first met with Sarah to talk about her wedding plans, I was beyond excited. She and her fiance, Jonathan, both paid a great deal of attention to every last detail.

Her something blue.

White blossoms and peacock feathers.

The flowers.

The dress.

Everything came together perfectly.

They got ready for the big day at the fabulous Friendship Farm in Schoolcraft. The handsome groom, Jonathan, was tucked away inside a barn — the perfect spot for an intimate first look at the lovely Sarah.

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing at the farm before and love the outbuildings, covered porches and quaint gazebo surrounded by flowers. Sarah and Jonathan both looked amazing.

Sarah and her sisters. Gorgeous (and extremely nice).

The wedding party kept the entire day relaxing and fun.

Sarah and Jonathan shared a final kiss before heading off to the fun.

The transportation fit the tone and swept them off to the beautiful Lawton Heritage Community Center for the ceremony and reception.

The ceremony was perfection.

We headed outside for a few more pictures while the guests enjoyed food stations throughout the Community Center.

Then, back indoors for some dancing and great company. We did steal a few minutes in between to have a little bit of fun when no one was looking.

I think this picture has made my list of all-time favorites.

Congratulations Sarah and Jonathan! View the rest of your online album here. I really enjoyed spending your special day with both of you, your friends and your wonderful families. May every day of your lives be filled with love.
